Obama Fails the Easy Test on Iran

While Iran burns, Obama asks: "Where is my fiddle?"

During the Presidential election, Joe Biden, babbled that President to be, Barack Apology Obama would be tested in his first six months. He implied that Obama, because he was so young, would be tested in the foreign policy area.

So Mr. Obama was elected and he went on his Foreign Apology Tours, apologizing to the world about all the past sins of the United States while forgetting the fact that because of America the world is not entirely run by lunatics. He was played the fool by Ortega and Chavez when he went to Latin America.

Then he went to Egypt, and told the Muslim world that America has sinned but that we love the Muslim world. Then the Iranians hold a bogus election (why wasn't Jimmy Carter counting the ballots?) and Rama-lama-ding-dong is re-elected as the tyrant-in-chief. The 900 year old Ayatollah supports the rigged results and the riots escalated. Thousands of Ayatollian lackies gathered and shouted "Death to America" after the bearded one declared the elections official. I guess they didn't hear Obama's soothing speech to the Muslim world.

And what does the Apologist-in-Chief do? He tells the world that the United States will not "meddle" in Iran's elections. This event was a modest test for Obama. All he had to do was STAND UP and call for free and honest elections and the right for people to protest for a better way of life. We are not asking Obama to send any troops into Iran. All we ask is that he stand up for the principles  of freedom and free, democratic elections. Instead, he wimped out.

Ronald Reagan helped bring down the Soviet Union by telling Gorbachev to "tear down this wall". Lech Walesa gave Ronald Reagan credit for Poland's fight for liberty. Why? Because Reagan publicly supported Walesa and Poland's quest for the simple principles of democracy, human rights, and a civil society, something the ruling loons in the Ayatocracy in Iran have no interest in pursuing.

The difference between a rookie like Obama, who is showing his youth, naivete, and inexperience and Ronald Reagan is simple. Obama views the world through the eyes of a tactical politician-- afraid to p-ss anyone off,  while worrying about the polls and the next election. Then there are leaders who view the world through a moral compass, where the political process is used to defend and further our values. For Reagan it was a moral pursuit to bring down Communism and spread the values of liberty and justice to as many people and countries as possible.

Obama just wants to hang out in the White House, be cool, make a daily speech about another new spending program we cannot afford, while saying nothing about oppression being endured by others. Oppressed people who yearn for freedom used to look to the United States for moral support. It looks like they are out of luck with this President.

His failure to use the Presidential bully pulpit to give the Iranian people as much support as possible is morally repugnant. There are only a few times during a four-year term when the President must rise above politics and let the world know that there are values worth living, striving, fighting, and, yes, even dieing for.

Mr. Biden, #2, your # 1 gets an "F" on this relatively simple foreign policy test. There was no bloodshed required to stand up to the lunatic rulers in Iran and send a message to the world about the values of freedom and democracy.

When you send a weak message to all the madmen on this earth that we do not want to get involved in peoples' quest for freedom against oppression, you are asking for trouble and then the REAL TEST will begin.

Put Michelle and Barack on the WALL OF GALL !

Let's see, unemployment is rapidly approaching 9%, gasoline is nearing $3.00 a gallon,10% of the population is behind on their mortgages, and Michelle Obama, the new Entertainment Czar and her husband, Barack Obama, the Bankrupter-in-Chief, jet off to NYC to catch a Broadway Show and have a little dinner. Did they sneak off and have crumpets with the useless Prince Harry while they were there?

A stooge from the administration read a prepared statement from these two Hollywood wannabees: "I am taking my wife to New York City because I promised her during the campaign that I would take her to a Broadway show after the election was all finished."

It's a good thing he didn't promise to buy her a new Pontiac!

What hubris, Mr. Empathy. What a great example to set for the rest of the country. While most of us tighten our belts and STAY HOME more often, you and your lovely wife decide to blow a few hundred thousand dollars of taxpayer money on a night on the town. What, the White House movie theatre and bowling alley followed by a kobe steak isn't good enough for you? Is Camp David under construction?

At least he didn't take Air Force One for this joyride. They took an Air Force Gulfstream 12 passenger jet, which Pelosi probably wasn't using. Then again, maybe Obama should have used Air Force One -- then he could have buzzed the Statue of Liberty again and gotten some fresh pictures for his scrapbook.

I'm sorry, but President Obama just doesn't get it. He is certainly entitled to some rest and relaxation from the most demanding job in the world. But he is tone deaf and acts like a Hollywood celebrity. He loves the spotlight and the fawning media. If President Bush had pulled this stunt, he would have been villified by most of the media (and rightly so).

For this arrogant display of hubris, insensitivity, and poor judgment shown to a country that he is driving into bankruptcy, Beltway Blowhards has placed the Obamas on its infamous WALL of GALL.

Austan Goolsbee Defends Obama's War On Wealth on Fox

Please visit www.BeltwayBlowhards.com for more conservative commentary by Jim Dandy

On Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, Austan Goolsbee, senior economic policy adviser for Obama, was asked by Mr. Wallace about two quotes on page 5 from the President's "Blue Book" A New Era of (ir)Responsibility:

1. "While middle-class families have been playing by the rules, living up to their responsibilities as neighbors and citizens, those at the commanding heights of our economy have not."

2. "There's nothing wrong with making money, but there is something wong when we allow the playing field to be tilted so far in the favor of the few."

Goolsbee then went on a Robin Hood-like defense of Bankrupt Blankcheck Obama's War on Wealth agenda. He blamed the Bush tax cuts for our economic malaise by saying:  ..."that squeeze on the middle class is what got us into this crisis."

Tax cuts got us into this mess, Mr. Goolsbee? I thought it had to do with such events as the sub-prime mortgage meltdown, 30X leverage on Wall Street, cheap money fueled by the Federal Reserve,  lax federal regulation by inept regulators like the SEC and the two headed congressional monster Frank-en-Dodd, greedy and stupid house buyers who bought houses they couldn't afford, and federal spending that was out of control.

He then went on an irrational defense of Obama's expansionist federal programs like renewable clean energy and reforms in education and health care, the same tired old liberal agenda that we have been hearing for decades. And he said these programs "will relieve the squeeze on the middle class so we don't get into this crisis again."

I was waiting for a renewed plea to continue fighting American's longest war -- the War on Poverty. At this spending rate we will all be poor, even those corrupt people at the "commanding heights of our economy".

Mr. Goolsbee, your argument for a War on Wealth may win you plaudits from the hard left. The assumptions, like higher tax revenues and lower deficits, the Bankrupt Obama administration makes for its New Era of (Ir)Responsibility are a blueprint for failure. WIth logic like Mr. Goolsbee's and the "Spending Bill of the Day" mentality of the Bankrupt Blankcheck Obama administration, no wonder China is concerned about our ability to pay our future bond obligations.

How sad that China is turning more capitalistic while the U.S. A. heads down the path to a socialistic society.

Did Obama Watch and Listen to Warren Buffett?

Warren Buffett, the Oracle of Omaha, and legendary investor had a 3 hour sit down with CNBC yesterday. I watched the entire 3 hour show and found it very interesting.% In the interview, the 78 year old Buffett talked about how bad the economy was, that the consumers had dramatically changed their spending habits, and it would get worse before it got better.

Despite his dreary short term forecast he did express profound optimism for the American people and the economy over the long term. It's nice to hear a 78 year old think about the long term! It is also important to note that Mr. Buffett is one of the world's richest people so he can afford to lose 20% to 30% of his wealth without worrying too much about it.

A multi-billionaire who loses a few billion can still sleep at night. His audience yesterday  was probably made up of  "thousandaires", people who lost 30% to 50% of their net worth the past six months.

I do not begrudge Mr. Buffett's wealth. He is a legendary investor and has made many of his shareholders very wealthy over the years.  The point of this blog is that he did make some important points about the political landscape and how it is intertwined with the ecomony:

> He made it abundantly clear that the government's primary job right now is to fix the economy and the financial system. "It is job #1, job #2 and job #3." He said Republicans and Democrats should work together to solve the nation's problems. BUT he also said that you cannot expect people to unite behind the President when he is trying to "jam everything down their throats", meaning all the massive spending programs like health care and Cap and Trade.

> Any Cap and Trade taxes will ultimately be passed on to the consumer. So this means higher utility bills for everyone while Al Gore runs around the country in his private jet telling us the Global Warming debate is over.

> Mr. Buffet made it clear he is AGAINST the Employee Free Choice Act or card check rule. He is a strong proponent of the secret ballot for union elections. He is not anti-union. He just believes in a democracy, people should vote in private.

> It is a mistake to demonize all corporate executives for using private jets.

Mr. Buffett endorsed Mr. Obama during his campaign and claims to still support him. He says that he is the right person for the job. He also says that he has not spoken to Mr. Obama aboout the economy.

Too bad. Instead of running around the country in post-election campaign mode, perhaps Mr. Obama should sit with Mr. Buffett for three hours with a few of his liberal friends and LISTEN to what he has to say before he tries to BANKRUPT the country.

Mustard Seeds and Obama-I'd Rather Have Weeds to Kill

Compliments of www.BeltwayBlowhards.com

Larry Kudlow, the moderator of CNBC's THE KUDLOW REPORT, has been trying to remain optismistic about the economy in spite of the idiots in Washington overseeing "Bailout Nation". He talks daily of mustard seeds being planted in the economy, such as:

Energy "Tax Cut", oil dropping from $4.00 a gallon to $2.00 a gallon

House Prices Declining, making houses more affordable

Money Supply Increasing, creating "easy money"

Meanwhile, the Beltway Blowhards, lead by Bankrupt Blankcheck Obama and Perilous Pandemic Pelosi are trying to bankrupt the country with tons and tons of pork, entitlements, higher taxes, and spending we cannot afford EVER. It is incomprehensible to even talk about these spending boondoogles when the taxpayer is strained and the country's credit rating is approaching junk bond status.

The mega-banks, led by penny stock Citigroup, are near bankruptcy and the stock markets are looking for some clarity from Tim IRS Geithner. So what does this pea-brained guru talk about today before the House Budget Committee? He defends the hundreds of billions of tax dollars for the Cap and Trade system: "It is critically important for our country (to) begin the process now of changing the incentives Americans face on how they use energy. It's important for reducing our dependence on foreign oil, it's critical for climate change."

Of course, there was no discussion by him to drill for more oil while we investigate all the other energy alternatives. God forbid, we do both at the same time. The only thing liberals can do simultaneously is TAX AND SPEND. Perhaps Tim, the wonder boy, should move to Venezuela and take a post with Hugo Chavez, who just nationalized the food industry.

Mr. Geithner, please stop acting like a

and bring some clarity to this financial crisis we are in. All these other stupid Administration spending ideas pale in comparison to fixing this financial mess.

Meanwhile, Bankrupt Obama had another one of his "show and tell" summits today about health care. This man is lost in his delusional self importance. He is trying to pass 100 programs in his first 100 days in a grandiose ploy to convince America he is trying to fix all our problems. All he is doing is confusing everyone. The markets don't like it, taxpayers don't like it, and NO ONE understands what he is doing. He IS a good talker though.

Larry Kudlow may have planted some mustard seeds in the Rose Garden for the Beltway Blowhards. The problem is that Bankrupt Obama, Pandemic Pelosi and IRS Geithner are pissing on the seeds with liberal urine and not watering them with common cents.

Bankrupt Obama's War on Wealth

Courtesy of: www.BeltwayBlowhards.com and Jim Dandy

In Bankrupt Obama's work of fiction, Dreams from My Father, he muses about scrambling for a job after graduating from that hotspot of conservatism, Columbia University. He really wanted to be a community organizer, but hadn't discovered ACORN yet. He said: "Organizers didn't make any money: their poverty was proof of their integrity." This is a statement only a messiah could make.

He needed to pay his bills and claims he got a job in the mid-1980's "as a research assistant for a consulting house to multinational corporations". (Some who worked with him would argue that he worked as a copy-editor for a small company that published newsletters on international business.)

Regardless of his true position at his first job, the quote from his book is enlightening about his vision of business: "Like a spy behind enemy lines, I arrived everyday at my mid-Manhattan office." If he had only know about ACORN back then, he would have been much happier.

Fast forward to 2009, and Bankrupt leads the attack on his real enemy, the creators of wealth, the capitalists and the hard-working taxpayers of America.  He  refuses to talk anymore about a "War on Terror.  Instead he leads a constant attack on business and U.S. taxpayers in his quest for the ultimate utopian society where everyone is a victim who depends on the government.

Welcome to Bankrupt Obama's new "WAR ON WEALTH".

Obama the Oracle Wows the Media: NOT SO FAST

www.beltwayblowhards.com

Obama made his speech last night before a joint session of Congress.

Only in America does it take TWO people to introduce the President:

"Madam Speaker" (first person) .....long pause....."The President of the United States" (second person)

If you are looking to save some money, one person would probably do.  Forget tradition, these are tough times! If the Detroit auto CEO's have to drive to DC to beg for bailout money, surely we can eliminate one of these two gentlemen (they look old enough to collect a fat pension and Social Security).

After the speech/lecture by Mr. Obama, the media fell all over itself in its praise. They seemed awed by Obama's style while ignoring the lack of substance or price tag associated with his socialistic, big government agenda.

It was awe-inspiring to see the two clowns, Joe Bluster Biden and Pandemic Pelosi sitting behind him during the speech. Imagine they are the next two in line to be President.

Some of my thoughts on excerpts from the speech:

Obama on the American people: ...the "hardest working people on earth".

Comment: I guess he hasn't visited China lately.
-----
Obama on Energy: He spoke of spending $15 billion per year on  renewable clean energy, research, power lines, making buildings more energy efficient, putting a CAP and TRADE on pollution, wind power, solar power, clean coal, solar power, bio-fuels, more efficient cars.

Comment: Not ONE WORD on drilling for our own oil. Any energy policy that does not include draining every drop of our oil is just plain typical liberal stupidity. PS--there is no such thing as clean coal--this is just a liberal buzz word.
-----
Obama on Health Care: "This is America. We don't do what is easy. We do what's necessary."

Comment: He left out two key words: AND EXPENSIVE!
-----
Obama on Education: "By 2020, America will once again have the highest percentage of college graduates in the world".

Comment: To do what? Green jobs? Work for the federal or state bureaucracies? There was no mention of the need for better vocational education or the need for colleges to actually teach people something relevant. No longer will parents waste $80 - $100 grand on a meaningless college education that prepares their kids for jobs that no longer exist. There are only so many cable TV talking head jobs available.
-----
Obama on the National Debt: "With the deficit we inherited....we passed a recovery plan free of earmarks.'

Comment: There he goes again about inheriting problems. No earmarks? How about Clueless Harry's $6 billion train or Pandemic Pelosi's $30 million mice survival program? The pending$420 billion Porkulus II bill has 9,000 earmarks in it!
-----

Obama on Medicare: "We wil have comprehensive Medicare reform"

Comment: What he meant was Medicare will double over the next 5 years and bankrupt the country.
-----

Obama on Iraq and Afghanistan: "With our friends and allies we will forge a new comprehensive strategy."

Comment: 95% of the comprehensive strategy will be funded by us and we will supply 100% of the fighting troops to bail out our so-called friends.
-----

Obama on America's future: "In our hands lies the ability to shape our world."

Comment: He forgot to add..."as long as we keep printing money to pay for all this."
-----

Obama on Taxes: " A family making less the $250,000 per year will not pay a dime more in taxes. Not one dime."

Comment: This quote will come back to haunt him. Remember Bush 41: "Read my lips. No new taxes." To pay for all of this crap he wants to do will require tax increases on everybody breathing. No, Mr. Obama,  It won't be one dime. It will be thousands of dimes per person.

FINAL COMMENT: Obama is a wonderful "orator". Unfortunately, he believes in big government, taxing the wealth creators and creating and expanding every liberal spending program imaginable.

Meanwhile this country is sitting on HUGE amounts of oil and he stubbornly refuses to drill for it. Only a liberal moron would ignore exploiting the vast riches in his own country in the belief that spending hundreds of billions of dollars on unproven energy alternatives is the only answer. Wake up -- this country can do both at the same time: drill for oil AND search for alternative solutions.

Drilling for more oil will CREATE (not save and create) thousands of good paying jobs for people who do NOT need a college education. These are jobs where the people truly DO work hard and the pay is great. Wake up Mr. Obama. In addition, we will KEEP hundreds of billions of dollars in the U.S. where it belongs. The money is in the ground. Let's have another oil rush!.

Mr. Obama, stop listening to these CAP and Trade liberal sirens. We need the oil JOBS and MONEY to stay in the United States of America.

Coming to a Theatre Near You: The Obamanable Snowjob

(Please visit www.beltwayblowhards.com for more conservative blogs)

President Obama is scheduled to give a speech to the nation on Monday about the stimulus boondoggle package. One has to wonder:

Will he be on time?

Which President will show up: The Prophet of Doom or Mr "Hope & Change"?

Regardless, to sell this piece of crap stimulus legislation, he will have to convince the American people that "Size Truly Does Matter".

In effect, he will have to star in the new movie: The Obamanable Snowjob.

The good news is that, after Tim Geithner blows the rest of the money rescuing the pathetic banks Obama will not have any money left for the rest of his socialist agenda including:

Nationalizing Health Care -- good for at least an additional $500 billion.

Granting citizenship to the 12 million illegals in this country  -- good for at least another $100 billion, when you consider the related health care, education, welfare, food stamps etc that most of this future Democratic constituency will clamor for and ultimately get.

Who said this stimulus package was a total waste of money?

RINO Republicans to the Stimulus Rescue?

Please visit www.BeltwayBlowhards.com for more interesting commentary about liberals gone wild!
Endangered species? - THE RINO'S (Republicans in Name Only)

                                     Snowe              Collins         Specter

The Senate today finally reached a preliminary agreement on a $780 billion "porkulus" spending bill. The day before, after the jobless numbers were released President Obama, the Prophet of Doom, proclaimed for all to hear: "These (unemployment) numbers demand action. It is inexcusable and irresponsible for any of us to get bogged down in distraction, delay and politics., while millions of Americans are being put out of work." He then went on a rant about inheriting the economy from Bush the Terrible.

Well, his Chicken Little inspirational speech must have worked. The 58 Democrats in the Senate are all in favor of this terrible bill. Are they all that stupid or is Clueless Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader, that persuasive? Of course, to get the 60 super majority they need to pass this boondoggle, the Democrats, after adding billions to the Pelosi House bill, "allowed" RINO's (Republicans In Name Only) Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, and Arnold Specter into the room to modify the original bloated proposal.

Presto Change-O. These three liberal loser Republicans jumped on board and worked with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel to get a bill "suitable" to these three morons. The bill hasn't passed yet, but these three Republicans are notorious liberals.

Perhaps a last minute phone blitz by angry constituents from Maine and Pennsylvania will convince these three big spenders to wake up. Someone needs to remind them that NO Republican voted for this pork laden bill in the House and the intelligent Republicans in the Senate voted against it. Perhaps Snowe, Collins and Specter will wake up and smell the rancid pork.

If this is an example of a "bi-partisan" bill, then America is in real trouble until 2010.

Obama is going to Elkhart, Indiana on Monday to push for this stupid bill before a town-hall meeting. Rumor has it that there are still two people employed in this town. Instead why doesn't the President go on a 10 day tour of all the high unemployment, tax and spend states like Rhode Island, New York, Michigan and California? These states are all bankrupt from decades of entitlements, high taxes and out of control spending, just like Washington. Surely he will be welcomed  in these states as a conquering hero.

CHANGE, Yes We Can. Nothing has changed in Washington, except we now talk in trillions of dollars instead of billions.

Stimulus Package: Liberals Show Their Stupidity and Arrogance

 A posting from www.BeltwayBlowhards.com Friday, February 6, 2009

I watch many of the talk shows on Fox, CNN and MSNBC (while holding my nose). There are so many different  Democrat and Republican "strategists" on these shows that it is a wonder our unemployment rate isn't closer to 5%. They seem to number in the thousands and most of them would be lost without their talking points.

Three of the most common themes given by the liberals in support of this idiotic, non-stimulative, $900 billion pork barrel bill are:

1. "The Enemy of the Good is the Perfect." I have heard this so many times that it MUST be a Democratic talking point. The rationale is that we can't have a perfect bill, so we should just settle for any bill.

What the liberals really mean:

"This bill includes a bunch of liberal, entitlement crap, it is far from perfect, but it is better than nothing. The electorate will be impressed by the size of the bill, not its merits."

2. "We Have to Do Something". This is another moronic reason given by the left wing fringe.

What the liberals really mean:

"What's a few hundred billion when we are already broke anyway? Our constitutents are stupid and we can always bame Bush for this mess we are in."

3. "We Won the Election. Get Over It".  I've heard Nancy "Two Heartbeats Away" Pelosi use this quote several times. Liberal windbag Eleanor Clift uses it all the time on The McLaughlin Report  when she can't use facts to support her stupid arguments.

What the liberals really mean:

"We could care less about what is good for the country. We want to get re-elected and our supporters love big government because most of them don't have to pay taxes to support these idiotic spending binges.

Al Gore: An Inconvenient Bore

Al Gore, the Inconvenient Bore, went to Washington DC Wednesday, to lecture the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, chaired by Stepford Senator John Kerry, about Global Warming. This occurred on a day when approximately 1 million Americans are waiting for their power to go on-line after winter ice storms slammed the U.S.

The Blowhard Kerry, who has plenty of Ketchup money to generate back-up power in his many mansions, said before Gore bored everybody to death:

"Some may argue that we cannot afford to address this issue in the midst of an economic crisis. Those who pose that question have it fundamentally wrong."

This is typical rhetoric from a liberal windbag who married extremely well and doesn't have to worry about making ends meet.   He can cruise the liberal Global Warming-Climate Change-Climate Chaos cocktail circuit without a care in the world. What does multi-millionare Kerry care if Obama taxes us to death with stupid environmental laws?

Back to Gore the Bore...

Gore bloviated at length about the need to pass the President's stimulus package. He said "The plans unprecedented and critical investments in four key areas --energy efficiency, renewables, a unified energy grid, and the move to clean cars, represent an important down payment and are long overdue."

Al Gore passes himself off as some big environmental expert. As the Oscar winner of that environmental babble film An Inconvenient Truth, he now insists the debate over Global Warming is over -- that everyone has come over to his side. What nonsense. What Mr. Gore refuses to understand is:

THE MORE WE LEARN THE LESS WE KNOW

Now we hear his proponents on the talk shows call Global Warming other things such as "Climate Change or Climate Chaos" to fit the weather report for that particular day. If it is really cold that day, the liberal losers will roll out the "Climate Change" theory. If it is unusually warm that day, they roll out the Global Warming mantra. Of course, if the weather patterns are all over the map, they call it Climate Chaos!

How about calling it what it really is: Mother Nature At Her Unpredictable Best

The last few years Al Gore has made a great living wandering around the world in his private jets and gas guzzling SUV's. When he needs a rest he goes home to his mansion in Nashville, Tennessee and consumes 20 times the energy of the average American household. Or if he really wants to relax during the summer, he can jump on his 100 foot houseboat, called Bi-Solar 1 (BS 1 for short).

I do not have a problem with Mr. Gore making a living out of this Global Warming hysteria. And he is entitled to live in as big a house as he can afford, fly in all the private jets and drive all the SUV's he wants while burning more fossil fuels in a year  than most Americans families will consume in a lifetime.

But please don't lecture us in your movie : "Are you willing to change the way you live" when you do not practice what you preach.

Al Gore is a typical liberal Beltway Blowhard. Do not as I do, but do as I say. Al Gore is an Inconvenient Bore.

Obama the Magnificent

AP Story: Obama The Magnificent

This report just in about the incredible Obama Administration ...

In an AP story published by Liz Sidoti 2 days ago:

"Barack opened his presidency by breaking sharply from George W. Bush's unpopular administration, but he mostly avoided divisive partisan and ideological stands. He focused instead on fixing the economy, repairing a battered world image and cleaning up government." (The italics and bold are mine.)

Wow, did Mr. Obama also walk on water, convert five loaves of bread and two fish into two million Bic Macs at the inauguration? Also did he turn some water into sweet Pelosi California whine and raise Lincoln from the dead so he could have a drink while chatting with him about the war in Iraq?

This is an example of the fawning media - Bush was a bum and Obama The Magnificent is already a great President. Give me a break.

This is the kind of "news" we would expect from liberal windbags like Helen Thomas, Eleanor Clift, or Mr. 'Tingle" Chris Matthews. Ms. Sidoti should wait another 95 days before anointing the new President as Obama the Magnificent.

Karl Marx or Groucho Marx: Who Should the GOP Quote?

For more conservative blogposts please visit www.beltwayblowhards.com

                                    OR

Yesterday, the Republicans on the House Financial Services Committee urged Democratic Chairman Barney Blather Frank to postpone the vote on the remaining TARP money, $350 billion. The Democrats seem to want to waste the remaining TARP funds even quicker than the Republicans do.

In the letter to Frank, the GOP lawmakers quoted that great capitalist Karl Marx: "History repeats itself, first as tragedy and then as a farce."

The letter then went on to say that "it appears Congress is trying to prove Marx correct ... We are again moving far too quickly in considering whether to approve the expenditure of hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars."

I think the GOP lawmakers were quoting the WRONG Marx. In the letter to that liberal windbag Frank, they should have quoted the great Groucho Marx. Here are a few of Groucho's classic quips, perfect for dealing with the liberal Beltway Blowhard Frank:

"Don't look now, but there's one too many in this room and I think it's you."

"He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot, but don't let that fool you. He really is an idiot."

"Now there's a man with an open mind - you can feel the breeze from here."

Here is another reason for Congress not to waste any more TARP money.

Citigroup stock is now trading lower than it was when it received the $52 billion from TARP. Maybe another $52 billion will drive it into backruptcy.

YRC: How to Save a Company WITHOUT a Government Bailout

YRC, the nations's largest publicly traded trucker, said that its union employees approved a 10% WAGE CUT and other contract modifications that will save the troubled company close to $250 million per year.

Let this action be a lesson for the Beltway Blowhards in Washington. If the government stops bailing out the private sector, it will figure out ways to survive on its own.

Congratulations to the Teamsters Union and the management of YRC for solving its own problems.

When the Shrinking Three Automakers come back to to Washington for more bailout money, the conservatives in Congress should point to YRC as an example to follow.

Surely, the UAW's Mr. Gettelfinger, Barney Blather Frank and Chris Coxcomb Dodd will ignore it.
